110 youths from Gujranwala and adjoining districts are among the migrants who went missing after the boat accident near Yunnan.

According to the authorities, 40 residents of Gujranwala are also among the persons whose identity has been confirmed. However, their families are reluctant to contact the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the media, which has led to difficulties in identifying them.

Reports suggest that Gujranwala has the highest number of missing persons after boat accidents. So far, information has come in about 110 youths from Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin and Hafizabad districts, who were all on board the ill-fated boat.

Of the 40 youths who went missing from Gujranwala, 9 belong to the city, 11 to Wazirabad and 20 to Nowshera Varkan. Among the missing persons identified by the authorities are 52 from different villages of the region, six from Mandi Bahauddin, 13 from Sialkot and one from Hafizabad.
