Punjab continues to be in the grip of dengue outbreak, as 219 new cases were recorded here on Friday. According to the latest data from the Health Department, a total of 11,188 confirmed cases of dengue have been reported in 36 districts of Punjab this year.

Lahore leads with 4,868 cases, followed by Rawalpindi with 2,450, Multan with 1,110, Faisalabad with 557, and Gujranwala with 1,043 cases. The situation continues, 83 more dengue cases were reported in Lahore, 24 in Rawalpindi, 23 in Multan, 41 in Gujranwala, 28 in Faisalabad, four in Sahiwal, three in Sialkot and three in Wahari.

Meanwhile, one case each of dengue was reported in Sheikhupura, Attock, Narowal, Okara, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Toba Tek Singh and Mandi Bahauddin in 24 hours. At present, 146 dengue patients are under treatment in various hospitals across Punjab, of which 91 are under treatment in district hospitals of Lahore.
