The number of 139 cases of dengue fever is continuously increasing in different districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.
Till Thursday, a total of 4,053 confirmed dengue cases were registered in 36 districts of Punjab this year. The provincial capital tops the list with a disturbing 1,641 cases, followed by Rawalpindi with 1,035, Multan with 503, Faisalabad with 190, and Gujranwala with 163 cases.

During the last 24 hours, 54 cases were reported from Lahore, 45 from Rawalpindi, 12 from Multan, 3 from Faisalabad, 6 from Gujranwala and 3 from Sheikhupura. Additionally, 2 new dengue cases were reported in Kasur, Gujrat, Narowal, Sahiwal and Wahari during the same period.
One new case each was reported in Muzaffargarh, Chakwal, Toba Tek Singh, Mandi Bahauddin, Rajanpur and Bhakkar. At present, 149 dengue patients are under treatment in various hospitals across Punjab, of which 55 are in Lahore district hospitals.
Secretary Health Punjab Ali Jan Khan appealed to the citizens to keep their surroundings clean and dry as preventive measures to prevent dengue fever. He urged them to cooperate with the health department teams in their tireless efforts to combat the outbreak.
