Punjab has seen a steady rise in dengue fever cases, with around 121 new confirmed cases reported in the last 24 hours. The latest update from the health department, as of Friday, revealed a total of 3,153 confirmed cases of dengue in 36 districts of Punjab this year.

Notably, Lahore tops the list with 1,266 cases, followed by Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad and Gujranwala with 761, 392, 161 and 132 cases respectively. During the last 24 hours, 41 new dengue cases were reported in Lahore, 29 in Rawalpindi, 28 in Multan, 5 in Faisalabad, 5 in Gujranwala, 3 in Sheikhupura and 2 in Mandi Bahauddin.

Additionally, one new case each was reported from Muzaffargarh, Sahiwal, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar, Pakpattan, Khanewal, Vehari and Chakwal. Currently, 113 dengue patients are under treatment in various hospitals across Punjab, out of which 36 are from Lahore district.

Secretary Health Punjab Ali Jan Khan appealed to the citizens to keep their surroundings clean and dry to prevent dengue fever and urged them to cooperate with the teams of the health department.
