The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a warning that the province is likely to experience intermittent rain with strong winds and thundershowers till March 31.
PDMA Director General Imran Qureshi issued the warning citing the weather forecast of the Meteorological Department. He said in a statement that westerly winds will enter the western parts of the country on Tuesday and will last till March 31.

Meanwhile, rain and thunder occurred in other cities including Lahore, Khushab, Mianwali, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Dera Ghazi. There is a chance of rain. Khan, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Leh, Multan, Sahiwal, Okara, Pakpattan, Khanewal, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and Rahimyar Khan.
He also warned of heavy rains and hailstorms at some places, which could cause severe damage to standing crops, especially wheat, and weak infrastructure. He said that the farmers should take precautionary measures keeping in mind the weather forecast.
The PDMA says that heavy rains may also cause flooding in the hilly areas of DG Khan.
