Five people including three women of the same family were killed and 10 injured in a road accident near Pahrianwali town of Mandi Bahauddin in the early hours of Monday.
Rescue and police sources said a passenger van was carrying a family from Phalia to village Kot Phule Shah after attending the last rites of a close relative who had died earlier.
At Sohawa Warraichan village, he tried to take a U-turn and suddenly hit a speeding dumper, resulting in 4 people being killed on the spot and 11 injured.
The dead and injured were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Phalia, where one seriously injured person succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased were identified as Saqib Ali, driver, Rashida Bibi, Batul Bibi, Zahida Bibi and Chan Peer Shah aged between 35 and 55 years, all residents of Phule Shah.
