Two persons killed in a collision with a high-speed jeep coming from wrong side

At least two people were killed and one injured when a speeding jeep coming from the wrong side of the road hit them near Gojra town in Mandi Bahauddin on Tuesday.

Police said three persons, identified as Wasi-ul-Hasan, Hasan Ejaz and Qasim Zafar, were going from Gojra to Bosal village on a motorcycle when they were hit by a speeding jeep coming from the wrong side.

As a result, Hasan Ejaz and Wasi were seriously injured and died on the spot while Qasim was also injured and shifted to the hospital. The jeep driver fled from the spot leaving the vehicle there.

The family members of the deceased alleged that the person driving the jeep was under the influence of alcohol and was driving at high speed, quoting eyewitnesses.

Gojra Police has registered a case against the named accused Ijaz Ahmed under Sections 322, 337G, 427 and 279 of the Pakistan Penal Code and started investigation.

The deceased were buried in their native areas after which the bodies were handed over to the heirs.
